Waiting on Wednesday: Inheritance - Christopher Paolini

Waiting on Wednesday was started by Jill over at Breaking the Spine and is a post detailing an upcoming book you can't wait to read.

My choice for this week is Inheritance by Christopher Paolini.

Publication date: November 8th 2011

Summary (from Goodreads): Not so very long ago, Eragon Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider, was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders.

Long months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the real battle lies ahead: they must confront Galbatorix. When they do, they will have to be strong enough to defeat him. And if they cannot, no one can. There will be no second chances.

The Rider and his dragon have come further than anyone dared to hope. But can they topple the evil king and restore justice to Alagaƫsia? And if so, at what cost?

This is the much-anticipated, astonishing conclusion to the worldwide bestselling Inheritance cycle.

So what about you guys? What are your picks for this week?

  1. There's a book coming out in Feb 2012 called Scarlet, a Robin Hood retelling centring on Will Scarlet (who appears to be a girl from the cover) that I can't wait to get my hands on!

  2. I am really looking forward to this one too though sadly I can't remember much of what happened in Brsingr. I will need to reread it first I guess. Great pick!

  3. Paolini is a great storyteller. Looking forward to this book. I recently read another fantasy novel that I really enjoyed. I've been a longtime fan of Stephen Lawhead, (who wrote a book called Scarlet about Robin Hood) and his son Ross just came out with a terrific book called The Realms Thereunder. Check it out:

Thank you kindly for the comment, you sweet thing.
