2012 has been a funny old year. It’s flown by at the speed of light and, honestly, I feel like I wasted most of it. I can’t really recall any major personal accomplishments this year and I definitely haven’t done half of the things I wanted to.
I did start freelancing this year, which I’m proud of and I made some good progress with my TEFL course. My writing, however, completely suffered and my novel is in a fairly similar state to how it was this time last year, which is horrendous to admit and needs to be rectified ASAP.
I want to thank all of my lovely blogger and writer friends – you make up such a wonderful community that I’m so happy to be a part of. I’ve made some genuinely fantastic friends throughout my three years (and counting) as a blogger and I definitely wouldn’t have the motivation to keep blogging if it wasn’t for you all.
As always, I’m so grateful to every publisher who thinks to send me press releases and books to review. I still get the same buzz now as I did when I was first starting out whenever I receive a review copy and it continues to surprise me that people think my little corner of the Internet is good enough for all of the brilliant books I get sent.
I’ve more than halved the amount of review books I accept now and it’s one of the best decisions I ever made. I’m so excited to delve into my 2013 selections and let you all know my thoughts. 2012 didn’t particularly blow me away as far as bookish years go but there are approximately a trillion 2013 releases I’m seriously looking forward to!
And finally, thank you to every single person who’s clicked onto Writing from the Tub in the last year. I know this year hasn’t been my best in terms of content but I’m feeling refreshed and full of new ideas and a slightly new direction for 2013 so I hope you’ll all stick around and carry on reading.
So a big ole thank you goes to all of you – you keep me motivated and smiling and generally happy and feeling fuzzy so THANK YOU folks, you’re the best.
